Ocean Salmon Fishing

The Chinook salmon, also known as (king salmon) is the largest and most valuable species of Pacific salmon in North America, as well as the largest salmon species. We typically experience peak Salmon fishing in Northern California's coast from around mid to late June through August. The Bodega Bay area, San Francisco, and Half Moon Bay host some of the best salmon fishing in the west coast due to the mass amounts of feed that gather off our coastline. The California Chinook salmon fishing season traditionally runs from April through October. The 2025 season is a limited dates quota fishery. The season dates are June 7,8. July 5,6. July 31. Aug 1-3, and 25-31. With and statewide quota of 7000 salmon statewide. The September Fall sub season will open Sept 4-7. Sept 29-30. Oct 1-5. Oct 27-31 with a quota of 7500 salmon. Once the quota is met for Each summer and fall season, the season will close. We will be trolling for salmon and action can be fast a furious at times. We expect great fishing off our coast this year and the quota will likely be reached by august. White Sturgeon are native to the delta and spawn February-April in the upper stretches of the Sacramento River from Verona to Colusa. Delta sturgeon can be caught year round in the lower stretches of the delta, Suisun Bay and San Pablo Bay. The best months to fish the delta for sturgeon are October-December and again in March - May. These times tend to be better because the water is warmer and the fish are more active.  A lot of people target sturgeon during the winter months simply because not much else is going on.
