Ocean Salmon Charter Boats
California's ocean Salmon two-day salmon season was a success. Opening day produced wide open fishing from San Francisco to Moss Landing. Bodega to Eureka reported slower action for the one weekend season. The quota was reached the second day and the next ocean salmon opener will be in September.

Ocean Salmon Fishing Reports
The flurry of action in our area took place from 11 miles southwest of the Farallon Islands to the Deep Reef. California ocean salmon were biting trolled apex lures, cable baits, and Rsk's with or without flashers. Our best depth was 100ft with fish caught from 55-120ft deep.

Half Moon Bay Ocean Salmon Fishing Boats
With calm weather in the forecast hundreds on boats took advantage of the two-day season and were rewarded with excellent ocean salmon fishing and some of the best sashimi quality salmon for the dinner table. California ocean salmon season has been closed the last two years due to poor management and many anglers were chomping at the bit to get out and harvest the abundance of salmon that are thriving off the California coastline.

California Ocean Abundance
Massive schools of all age classes of California are staging off the coast to make the run into the Sacramento, Feather, American and Mokelumne rivers. The number of salmon swimming around off the coast of California makes it very clear the Ocean abundance is much higher than the forecast. We are excited for the in-river season as it's going to be a great one. Salmon are thriving in California, and we can't wait to go catch more on the Feather and American rivers from July 16 - Oct 31.

When To Catch California Ocean Salmon
The next ocean salmon fishing opener will be Sept 4-7 from Pt Reyes to Pt Sur, with a 7500 fish quota. This will most likely be a 4-day season with other dates available if the Quota isn't reached. This will be the last chance to harvest salmon in the ocean till 2026.
